AI Chatter for Fanvue: How It Works, What It Costs and What It Can Earn

What an AI chatter actually does in your Fanvue DMs, how it compares to a human chatter, what to watch out for, and how to set one up in a few minutes.

Most of the money on Fanvue is made in the DMs. Subscriptions pay the rent, but PPV messages, tips and customs are where the top creators pull ahead - and every one of those sales starts with a reply. That is exactly the job an AI chatter takes over.

This guide explains what an AI chatter does, what it costs compared to a human chatter, what we learned from more than 250,000 fan messages, and what you should check before you switch one on.

What an AI chatter actually does

An AI chatter is not a canned auto-reply. A good one runs the whole conversation the way a skilled human chatter would:

Why speed matters so much

Fans are impatient. In our social-DM data, half of the men who answered at all were gone by their 10th reply. Every hour without an answer costs you part of that window. A human team covers a few shifts; an AI chatter answers the fan at 4 a.m. on a Sunday the same way it answers him on a Tuesday afternoon.

Speed also compounds: a fan who gets fast, personal answers stays in the conversation longer, and longer conversations are where PPVs get unlocked.

What it costs

Human chatters are usually paid by the hour or with a commission on what they sell, plus the time you spend training them, checking their chats and covering their shifts.

EmpireChat charges 10% of the PPV and tip sales it makes - the price the fan pays. There is no monthly fee and no fee on subscriptions or renewals. If it sells nothing, you pay nothing. You top up a prepaid balance, and the fee is deducted after each sale.

The most expensive AI is not the best seller

One of our more surprising results: we split fans 50/50 between two AI models for the same chats. The cheaper model, DeepSeek V4 Flash, brought 32 subscribers from 741 fans. The pricier model brought 19 from 732. The cheaper one also kept conversations going longer.

The lesson for anyone building or buying an AI chatter: test on real fans. "Smarter" on a benchmark does not mean better at flirting, keeping a fan talking or closing a sale.

What a good setup looks like

Before you let any AI chat for you, set the rules it must follow:

  1. Persona - name, age, personality, what she likes, what she never talks about, how she writes.
  2. What may be sold - which vault folders, which pictures and videos are never sold, the price range and the price ladder.
  3. Scripts and bundles - the order in which PPVs go out, and what comes free as a teaser.
  4. Limits - how often a link or PPV may be offered, and when to back off after a "no".
  5. Pause switch - you should be able to stop the AI for one fan or for everyone, any time.
