Most AI chatters do two things: small talk and selling. Fans notice fast. The chat feels like a vending machine with a pretty face.
Today we shipped the part in between. It's the part that makes a fan feel known. We built it on our own Fanvue model.
It remembers what's still open
The fan profile now keeps open threads with a date: a job interview on Thursday, his sister's wedding, a trip. When the day has passed, the AI brings it back once: "wait, didn't you have the interview? how did it go".
- What matters to him. 1-3 values his stories show, so the AI can name a quality of his instead of a generic compliment.
- How he likes to talk. Ambitious, romantic, playful. The AI leans into his kind of talk.
- A running joke. Something he loves or hates becomes "our thing" early on and comes back about every 7th message of his.
We wrote more on why memory beats a better opener.
One step deeper, at the right time
Deep questions in the middle of a sale feel like a trick. So the AI only goes deeper after a script is finished or a set he didn't buy, never while selling or sexting. And at most once every 8 hours or 6 of his messages.
- Future questions in five areas: dream life, freedom, identity, regrets, experiences. Each one once per fan. She shares her own answer first.
- His answer gets reflected back, not followed by the next question: "so it's not really about the travelling.. it's that nobody tells you when to get up?"
- A quality of his named from his own stories, now and then instead of a question.
Bad days come first
When he writes "rough day, so tired", the AI asks: "want me to just listen, help you figure it out, or distract you?" Then it stays in that mode for 6 hours with no offer. It reads this in every top-market language, not just English. It's the same idea as holding off on selling.

A little friction is healthy
Couples who never disagree are boring, and so are chats. Research on playful teasing and on how couples repair after a disagreement shaped this part.
- Playful debates, at most one a day. The AI asks for his side ("why is that so important to you?"), names the difference warmly, then finds common ground.
- Instant repair. A short or annoyed answer ends it right away: "ok ok you win 😂". No debate for 48 hours after that.
Small moves that make it personal
- The hero ask: "you're the only one who'd get this.. how would YOU handle it?" His answer gets credited later.
- The unfinished story: "there's a reason sunday evenings get to me... ask me again later." When he asks, she finishes it, one level more honest.
- A private nickname once she knows him (20+ of his messages), used now and then.
- His first photo of himself gets one specific compliment, about his beard or his glasses, never "you look nice".
- "I was thinking about what you said" replaces a plain follow-up for a quiet fan who told her real things, every 5 days at most.
- A weekly check-in for fans she's known 2+ weeks, sent as a voice note: "no ppv, no teasing".
- Aftercare. After he came and went quiet: "hey you good? come back to earth for me lol". No selling.
A long letter gets a real answer
Some fans write 600+ characters about their life. Most chatters answer with one line, and the fan feels unheard. The AI first sorts the message: a real letter, a sexual one, pasted text, or something else.
From his second letter on, she can write one back: 150-220 words in his language, about his letter and his life, read in her voice and sent as a locked message from $9.99.
When he renews, and when he leaves
In our data, 15 fans renewed since Oct 8 and none of them cancelled afterwards. Cancels happen within hours of the first subscription. So a renewal is the moment to say thank you:
- He renews: a personal thank-you with one real thing from their chats, plus a free picture "i wanted you to have it". No selling. Fanvue sends nothing automatic for renewals.
- He cancels: instead of "why?", she brings back 1-2 real things from their talks she'll miss. He usually tells her why anyway.
Every move is measured
Each kind of relationship message is counted: how often it went out and how often the fan wrote again afterwards. Moves that don't bring him back get cut. We'll share the numbers once there's enough data.
Bottom line
Selling lines get the first purchase. Feeling known keeps him subscribed. The AI now does both, and it knows which moment is which.
